Filter Care and Maintenance
Your Stetzerizer Filter comes with a 2 year warranty but with proper care should last many years. Please keep your receipt as you will need this in the unlikely event of a warranty claim.
It is important to ensure you have enough filters to reduce the microsurge value to a suitable level. Please use a Stetzerizer Microsurge Meter (or oscilloscope) to check the values before and after installing the filters to ensure the microsurge values are at a suitable level. Failing to install enough filters means the ones installed are overworked and this could reduce their service life. If your filter hums when turned on it is an indication that it is potentially overloaded and additional filters are required.
To protect the fuse we recommend turning off the power point before inserting or removing a filter.
The filter has a plug through so you do not lose the use of the power point while the filter is installed. We recommend NOT plugging high current devices into the filter (eg. heaters, hair dryers etc). Low current devices are fine (eg phone chargers, televisions, computers etc).
We recommend periodically checking your home with the meter to ensure the values are still at a suitable level. Over time changes occur such as nearby houses installing solar or you may change appliances. These changes may affect the readings and potentially mean more filters are required to keep the values low.
We also recommend checking your filters periodically to ensure the lights are still illuminated. No illumination may mean a fuse has blown and needs replacing. Your filter has a replaceable fuse. If your filter stops working please contact us to organise a replacement fuse.
